Jumpers
Turn the jumper inside out. On one side of the jumper, locate the horizontal stitch at the bottom of the arm hole that holds the extra fabric flat against the garment. With a seam ripper carefully rip out this stitch. The side of the jumper is sewn with a double seam; locate the seam which is farthest from the edge of the fabric (in other words, the innermost side seam). Rip out this line of stitching from the bottom of the arm hole all the way down until the seam tapers off at the hem. If the garment has a pocket, simply stop ripping at the top of the pocket. Repeat this process on the other side of the garment.
Turn the garment inside out. Tug at the top of one of the vertical side seams that is hidden under
the waistband until it becomes visible all the way to the top of the garment. On this double
seam, locate the seam farthest from the edge of the fabric (in other words, the
innermost side seam). With a seam ripper, carefully rip out this line of stitching from
the top of the waistband all the way down until the seam tapers off at the hem. If necessary,
repeat on the other side of the garment.
